Scharia, Gerechtigkeit und Gesellschaft

Islam is a religion of peace. Peace (al-Salām) is a name of Allah, the Muslim greeting, and a name of Paradise, and the Quran tells believers to choose peace.

Racism is haram in Islam. The Quran calls the diversity of colors a sign of Allah, and the Prophet taught that no race is superior to another except in taqwa.

Slavery is haram today. The Prophet lived in a world where slavery was universal, freed those he owned, and the Quran made freeing slaves an act of worship.

Hudud punishments are not for application today. The Prophet turned confessors away, Umar suspended cutting hands in famine, and jurists averted hudud by doubt.

Islam says the poor have a right in the wealth of the rich. The Quran ties faith to feeding the hungry, and zakat and endowments make that care a shared duty.

The Quran sets no worldly punishment for blasphemy. It commands patience and dignified withdrawal, and the Prophet answered insults with gentleness.

Islam makes humans stewards of the earth, a trust held under the balance Allah set. Wasting, polluting, and destroying it is haram; caring for it is worship.

Islam supports universal healthcare. Saving one life is like saving all humanity, and Muslim hospitals treated rich and poor alike for free for centuries.

ISIS is not Islamic. Its killing of innocents, enslavement, and torture are haram, over 120 scholars refuted it in 2014, and the Prophet foretold such groups.

Islam is compatible with democracy. The Quran praises rule by consultation (shura, 42:38), and the Sunnah grounds authority in consent and accountability.

Voting is halal and encouraged in Islam. The Quran praises believers whose affairs are settled by consultation (42:38), and a vote is a trust to cast justly.

Islam encourages science. The first revealed word was Read (96:1), the Quran calls believers to study creation, and Muslims shaped algebra and optics.

Honor killing is haram in Islam. It is murder, which the Quran counts as killing all humanity (5:32), and the Prophet forbade a husband to kill even in anger.

Islam does not require a caliphate. The Quran commands justice, consultation, and trust in government, and leaves the form of the state to each generation.

Islam commands welcoming refugees and immigrants. The Prophet was a migrant, the Quran praises those who shelter newcomers (59:9), and asylum is a trust (9:6).

Muslims may live in non-Muslim countries. The Prophet sent his Companions to a Christian king in Abyssinia, and citizens keep their faith and their covenants.

Islam honors people with disabilities. Allah looks at hearts, the Quran rebuked turning from a blind man (80:1–10), and the sharia asks no one beyond capacity.

Islam commands fair wages paid on time, humane hours, and dignity for every worker. Withholding pay is a grave sin, and joining together for justice is halal.
