Der Koran und der Prophet ﷺ

Muhammad was a real person. Christian writers named him within years of his death, a Quran manuscript dates to 568–645, and coins bore his name by 685.

The Quran should be interpreted by itself, the Sunnah, the Arabic language, and the context of revelation, with justice and mercy as its guiding purposes.

Not all hadith are authentic. Scholars graded reports as sahih, hasan, daʿif or fabricated, Aisha corrected Companions by the Quran, and few are mutawatir.

The Prophet Muhammad married eleven women in his lifetime; nine survived him. Khadija was his only wife for 25 years, and most later wives were widows.

How was the Quran compiled? Revealed over 23 years, memorized and written in the Prophet's lifetime, gathered under Abu Bakr, and copied under Uthman.

You can read the Quran in English: Allah sent it to be understood, and reading a good translation is reflection the Quran asks of everyone. Which to choose.

Khadija bint Khuwaylid was a merchant of Mecca, the Prophet's first wife, and the first person to believe in Islam. Who was Khadija, and why is she loved?

A Muslim may set aside a hadith on scholarly grounds, as Aisha and the great imams did. The Sunnah as a whole remains a source of guidance beside the Quran.

The Prophet Muhammad fought defensive wars in Medina after 13 years of persecution, under strict rules of war, then made peace at Hudaybiyya and forgave Mecca.

The Sunnah is the way of the Prophet: his words, deeds, and approvals. It lives out the Quran, and its spirit is mercy, ease, and beautiful character.

Muslims say peace be upon him after the Prophet's name because the Quran commands it (33:56). What PBUH and SAW mean, and why every prophet is honored.

Listening to the Quran while falling asleep, driving, or working is halal. The Prophet recited lying down and before sleep; give it attention when you can.
